I lost access to my authenticator app — how do I get back in?

If your phone is gone or the authenticator app is wiped, the recovery path is your backup codes.

  1. On the 2FA prompt during sign-in, look for a "Use backup code" link.
  2. Enter one of the backup codes you saved at setup. Each works exactly once.
  3. You are signed in. Immediately set up 2FA again on the new device, and save a fresh set of backup codes.

If you have no backup codes left and cannot reach your authenticator, email support@validemailchecker.com from your account email. We verify identity manually before disabling 2FA — this takes longer than a self-service recovery, so save those backup codes the first time.
