How do I select a specific Brevo list to verify?

Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) groups contacts into lists and folders. Valid Email Checker reads from the Brevo v3 API and presents your lists in a searchable picker the moment you open a sync. Connection details and finding the v3 key live in the Brevo integration guide.

Opening the list picker

1. Open Integrations from the VEC sidebar.
2. Find the Brevo connection row in Connected Integrations.
3. Click the three-dot menu and pick Sync Now (or trigger the same modal from Bulk Upload).
4. A modal opens showing the Brevo logo, the connection name, and a list of every list visible to your API key.
5. Use the search field to narrow the picker if your Brevo account has many lists.

What appears in the picker

• Brevo lists — every contact list visible to your v3 API key.
• Subscriber counts — pulled live from Brevo so you can size the verification cost before clicking Import.
• Search field — filters by name in real time. Useful when your account has dozens of segmented lists.

Folders in Brevo are organizational only — the picker is flat and shows every list regardless of which folder it lives in. Contact attributes are not selectable as a separate list type here; if you want to verify a filter-defined subset, create a Brevo segment first and export it to a list.

How subscriber counts are computed

The number next to each list comes from totalSubscribers in the Brevo API response. This includes Unsubscribed and Blacklisted contacts. VEC dedupes during import (toggled on by default) and skips already-blacklisted contacts, so the actual credits charged are often lower than the displayed count. The credits-needed line in the bottom panel of the modal updates in real time once you make a selection.

Refreshing list data

Click the circular refresh icon at the top right of the modal. VEC re-queries the Brevo v3 API and updates the picker without closing the modal. Use this after creating new Brevo lists or after a large import that just landed.

What happens after picking

Below the list picker you choose between Verify Only (Brevo untouched, results land in your VEC Uploads & Results page) and Clean List Automatically (results applied back to Brevo using the action settings). Hit Import List, and you are redirected to the results page where progress is shown in real time.

Common selection issues

• List missing — make sure you copied the v3 API key (starts with xkeysib-) rather than a legacy v2 key. Older keys cannot read newer list types.
• Subscriber count blank — the Brevo API occasionally returns an empty count for very small or newly created lists. The Import button still works; just expect the credits estimate to under-report briefly.
• Modal stuck on Loading — Brevo throttles v3 reads for very large accounts. Wait 30 seconds and retry the refresh icon.
