How do I disconnect or revoke the Brevo integration?

Removing the Brevo integration from Valid Email Checker is a two-step process when you want a clean break: first delete the connection on our side, then revoke the v3 API key inside Brevo. Most teams stop after step one; security-conscious accounts always finish both.

Step 1: delete the connection in VEC

  1. Open VEC and head to Integrations in the sidebar.
  2. Spot the Brevo row in your Connected Integrations table.
  3. Click the three-dot menu and choose Delete.
  4. Confirm in the modal that pops up.
  5. The Brevo entry vanishes from the table immediately.

Deleting the connection also wipes the sync history attached to it. Past verification jobs remain in Uploads & Results as standalone records — those are independent of the integration row.

Step 2: revoke the API key in Brevo

  1. Sign into Brevo.
  2. Open SMTP & API → API Keys (or via account avatar → SMTP & API).
  3. Find the v3 key you used to connect to Valid Email Checker.
  4. Click the trash icon next to that key, or regenerate it. Brevo instantly invalidates the old value.
Why revoke separately
Deleting on our side removes the stored credential from our database. The string itself, however, still exists as a valid key in Brevo unless you revoke it there. If the key was ever copy-pasted into another tool or shared with a contractor, regenerate to force a clean slate. Brevo also keeps per-key audit logs that confirm VEC is no longer making API calls.

What happens to running verifications?

A verification mid-import keeps running using the credentials cached at the start of the job. The Brevo deletion takes effect immediately for any new sync attempts, which will fail until you reconnect. Reconnect by following the connect steps in the Brevo integration guide.

Reconnecting later

You can connect the same Brevo account again whenever you want by going to Integrations → Connect Integration → Brevo and pasting a fresh v3 key. The reconnect is treated as a brand-new entry — no link back to the deleted one. If you previously assigned a name (useful in multi-account setups), reuse it to keep team-facing labels consistent.

Team-member-created connections

A connection created by a team member rather than the owner shows a Users badge in the Provider column. Owners can always delete those. Team members can only delete connections they themselves created. Ask the owner if you need a removal you cannot perform yourself.
