How many free credits do I get when I sign up?

Last updated May 19, 2026Getting started

Every new account gets 200 free credits, deposited as soon as you confirm your email. One credit equals one email verification, so that is 200 verifications you can run before paying anything.

These credits behave the same as Pay-As-You-Go credits: they never expire, they work with any feature in the dashboard, and unused credits stay in your account indefinitely. You can use all 200 in your first hour or spread them across a few months.

What 200 credits actually gets you

  • A small list cleanup (around 200 subscribers — typical for newsletters, local businesses, or a fresh tradeshow lead list)
  • A test of the bulk verification flow end-to-end
  • Single-email spot checks across a few hundred suspect addresses
  • A meaningful demo of the platform before committing to a paid plan

One thing free credits do not cover

API access. The REST API unlocks after your first purchase (smallest plan is $5 for 2,100 credits). You can verify emails, run bulk tasks, and use integrations on the free tier — just not the API. This is an abuse-prevention measure to keep the API surface clean.

Auto-refund on unknowns
If a verification comes back as "Unknown" — meaning we could not deliver a definitive answer — the credit is automatically returned to your account. You only pay for definitive results.
