How do I select a specific Elastic Email list to verify?
Elastic Email groups contacts into lists and segments. Valid Email Checker reads both shapes through the Elastic Email API and surfaces them in a single searchable picker. API key creation and required scopes live in the Elastic Email integration guide.
Opening the picker
- Open Integrations in the VEC sidebar.
- Find the Elastic Email row in Connected Integrations.
- Click the three-dot menu and pick Sync Now.
- A modal opens with the Elastic Email logo and the list picker.
- Pick one row with the radio button.
What appears in the picker
- Contact lists — manually curated lists in Elastic Email.
- Segments — filter-defined dynamic groups visible to your API key.
- Subscriber counts — pulled live from Elastic Email.
- Search field — filters by name as you type.
Elastic Email channels (the sending infrastructure abstraction) are not selectable in the list picker. The picker focuses on contact-level lists and segments.
Sizing the cost before importing
The credits-needed line at the bottom of the modal uses the Elastic Email subscriber count. Duplicate removal (on by default) lowers the actual spend, and unknown-status results are automatically credit-refunded. A verification on a 25,000-contact list typically costs in the 22,000-24,000 credit range in practice.
Refreshing list data
Click the circular refresh icon at the top of the modal. VEC re-queries the Elastic Email API and updates counts in place. Useful after creating new lists or running large imports.
After picking the list
Choose Verify Only (default, Elastic Email untouched) or Clean List Automatically. The latter activates the per-category cleanup settings panel. Hit Import List, and you are redirected to Uploads & Results where progress updates in real time. Closing the tab does not stop the job — verification runs server-side on VEC's infrastructure.
Troubleshooting
- List missing — the API key may not have Marketing/Contacts read scope. Regenerate at Settings → API Keys with the correct scope set.
- Empty picker — the Elastic Email account has no contact lists or segments yet. Create one in the Elastic Email dashboard first.
- Counts stale — click refresh to force a re-fetch. Elastic Email occasionally caches counts briefly.
