How do I disconnect or revoke the Mailchimp integration?
Removing the Mailchimp integration from Valid Email Checker is a two-step process for full hygiene. Step one: delete the connection on our side. Step two: revoke the OAuth grant inside Mailchimp. Step one stops VEC from accessing Mailchimp; step two cleans up the authorization audit trail on the Mailchimp side.
Step 1: delete the connection in VEC
- Sign into VEC and open Integrations.
- Find the Mailchimp row in Connected Integrations.
- Click the three-dot row menu and choose Delete.
- Confirm the action in the modal.
- The Mailchimp entry disappears from the table immediately.
Deleting the connection also clears the sync history bound to it. Past verification jobs remain in your Uploads & Results page as independent records.
Step 2: revoke the OAuth grant in Mailchimp
- Sign into Mailchimp with an Owner or Admin account.
- Click your account avatar.
- Open Account & Billing → Settings → Integrations.
- Find Valid Email Checker in the connected apps list.
- Click Disconnect or Remove.
Multiple Mailchimp accounts
If you connected multiple Mailchimp accounts (typical for agencies with one account per client), each VEC connection authorizes against a different Mailchimp login. Disconnecting one connection in VEC does not affect the others. The OAuth revoke in Mailchimp has to be done inside each account separately.
What happens to running verifications?
A verification mid-import keeps running with the access token cached at the start of the job. New sync attempts fail immediately until you reconnect. To get going again, walk through the OAuth flow in the Mailchimp integration guide.
Reconnecting later
Go to Integrations → Connect Integration → Mailchimp and walk through the OAuth flow again. The new connection is treated as fresh. If you previously named the connection something specific (recommended in multi-account workflows), reuse the name for team-facing consistency.
Team-member-created connections
Connections created by team members show a Users badge in the Provider column. Owners can delete any connection; team members can only delete connections they themselves created. The Mailchimp OAuth grant is tied to the Mailchimp user who authorized it, so deleting in VEC does not automatically remove the app in Mailchimp — that has to be done separately by an Owner or Admin.
