How do I disconnect or revoke the Campaign Monitor integration?

Last updated May 20, 2026Integrations

Removing the Campaign Monitor integration from Valid Email Checker is a two-step job for full hygiene: delete the connection on our side, then revoke the API key inside Campaign Monitor. Single-step removal works for most situations, but a security-conscious account should always finish both.

Step 1: delete the connection in VEC

  1. Sign into VEC and open Integrations.
  2. Find the Campaign Monitor row in the Connected Integrations table.
  3. Click the three-dot row menu and choose Delete.
  4. Confirm the action in the modal.
  5. The Campaign Monitor entry disappears from the table immediately.

Deleting the connection also clears the sync history bound to it. Past verification jobs stay on the Uploads & Results page as independent records — they no longer reference this integration.

Step 2: revoke the API key in Campaign Monitor

  1. Sign into Campaign Monitor.
  2. Open Account Settings → API Keys.
  3. Locate the key you used to connect to Valid Email Checker.
  4. Revoke or regenerate it. The previous value becomes invalid immediately.
Why revoke separately
Deleting in VEC removes the stored copy from our database. The key string itself remains valid in Campaign Monitor unless you regenerate or revoke it there. For shared-team accounts, an explicit revoke ensures the key cannot be reused even if it leaked into another tool.

Effects on multi-client agency setups

If your Campaign Monitor connection covers multiple clients, deleting the integration cuts off VEC's access to all of them at once. Reconnecting later restores access to every client the regenerated key can read. There is no way to disconnect access to a single client without revoking the underlying key.

What happens to running verifications?

A verification mid-import continues using the credentials cached when the job started. New sync attempts will fail immediately until you reconnect. To get going again, follow the steps in the Campaign Monitor integration guide.

Reconnecting later

Reconnect by going to Integrations → Connect Integration → Campaign Monitor and pasting a fresh API key. The new connection is unrelated to the deleted one. If you previously named the connection something specific (recommended for multi-account workflows), reuse the same name for consistency.

Team-member-created connections

Connections created by team members show a Users badge in the Provider column. Owners can always delete those. Team members can only delete connections they themselves created. Ask the owner if you need a connection removed and the Delete option is hidden.
